What cold showers do

I first heard about people taking cold showers or even fully immersing themselves in cold water when I was listening to a Tony Robbins Podcast. A couple of years ago when visiting Japan we fully immersed ourselves in their Onsen culture. These amazingly beautiful Japanese Hot Spring also have an element of cold about them with plunge baths and iced water on tap! Lately I’ve heard Chris Evans on Virgin Radio talking about the benefits of cold showering and whilst I’ve never been into anything cold – I don’t even really like ice-cream! I decided to give it a go. So here’s my video of me

How to be a skincare label reader

I popped into a high street store last week and picked up a moisturiser which was screaming healthy, natural, moisture balance to me. It looked lush but when I checked the ingredients in it I was horrified that even today, consumers are being hood winked by great marketing into buying brands that purport to be filled with natural, wholesome plant based ingredients like Shea butter, Coconut oil and Jojoba oil, when in fact the majority of the product is filled with toxic mineral oil and cheap bulk fillers. Beauty Basics - How to create a winter glow

As winter sets in our skin comes under more and more stress, cold weather, harsh chemicals, daily pollution and air conditioning or central heating, all play their part in how we look and the ageing process. Wrinkle slayer extraordinaire and A-list anti-ager, it’s a superhero amongst skincare, and yet many of us are still confused about what exactly we’re supposed to do with it. It’s reputation for being irritating has put many off it, we’ve all seen those horrific pictures of celebrities leaving clinics with heads bowed and bright red faces. Perhaps you’ve had a bad

Recipe for Natural Toilet Cleaning bombs

Over the last 6 years I’ve come to educate myself in the use of chemicals and harmful ingredients in my skincare, haircare, make-up and cleaning products. I’ve been buying eco cleaning products for years but have started to make my own too and, with not bad results, if I say so myself! Here’s my latest experiment Toilet Cleaning Bombs. Think bath bombs but for your loo. They’re designed to work over a couple of hours, or over night in my case, and restore your loo to a brilliant sparkle without the need for elbow grease or limescale removing type chemicals. They work on stains and limescale as

What Your Poo Is Telling You About Your Body

You have to get over yourself to be a health coach, not only in terms of putting your own ideas aside for the good of the client but also so that you’re open to talking about topics that one wouldn’t ordinarily raise in company. One of the big ones is Poo. Or more importantly, what your Poo is telling you about your body. The Greeks and Romans understood all these thousands of years ago – the colour, texture and frequency of your poo can tell you a whole lot about your health! Is your Poo green or brown, watery or pebble-like, odourless or heavily scented (if indeed scented is the right word!)
